Marriage - Let Maa Katyayani Bring Him to You!




kātyāyani mahā-māye | mahā-yoginy adhīśvari

nanda-gopa-sutaṁ devi | patiṁ me kuru te namaḥ

 In an age where family, friends and relatives are only worried about my marriage, there are so many advises, proposals and discussions that need my attention. No wonder at this point in life myself and all other girls of my age go through these feelings and circumstances. There is a flood of emotions and thinking at its peak. Worries about parents, dreams, future ... almost everything about life!

 After having seen the struggles of friend's, relatives, colleagues to find their most suitable match, I now chose to right this blog to share my thoughts of the way I choose to find my suitable match.

 As always, being a mummy's daughter and a spiritual soul, heart and mind always take me back to my roots- Srimad Bhagwat to get all answers!!! 

 If we understand our scriptures carefully, Goddess Sita worshiped Goddess Parvati (Goddess Durga) to marry Lord Ram



Goddess Rukmini also worshipped Goddess Durga to marry Lord Krishna


Gopis (young marriageable daughters of the cowherd men) of Gokula in Braja, also worshipped Goddess Katyayani (Goddess Durga) and took a vrata or vow, during the entire month of Margashirsha, the first month of the winter season, to get Lord Krishna as their husband.


The biggest commonality in all aforementioned kathas is that Goddess Sita, Gopis and Goddess Rukmini only prayed with all their heart to Goddess Durga for their right match. Their parents always agreed to their choice and for both, Goddess Sita and Goddess Rukmini, a sage helped Lord Rama and Lord Krishna to reach them. 

What Goddess Sita, Gopis and Goddess Rukimi taught is that, do the karma of searching the right match along with your parents and sages, and let Goddess Katyayani bring him to you. We ourselves, don't really have to run after anyone. All we, as girls, need to do is- Pray to Maa Katyayani, and let it be driven through Maa Katyayani. That ways...

... Your Krishna, will find you!

Jai Katyayni Mahamayi ! Maharishi Katayana was always devoted in worship of Maa Durga. He did a lot of hard penance for many years. His wish was that mother Durga was born as his daughter. Mother Durga accepted his prayer.
